West Bank, east of Jerusalem, 2013

Bedouin tribe of al-Ka’abneh. They sustain nomadic lifestyle. The village is trapped between Israeli “security” barrier and a Jewish settlement guarded by the army.

The village consists of tents built of metal sheets, cardboard, cloths provided by the UN and items found in landfills. There are stables, warehouses, field kitchens and bedrooms. The village doesn’t have water or sewerage. Goats breed is the main source of income.

Bedouins are one of the most vulnerable groups of Palestinian-Israeli conflict. As nomadic community they do not fit into any reality, neither Israeli nor Palestinian. They are being resettled and deprived of vital resources. Their number constantly decreases.
